Welcome to the German Institute for the Southwest

Dear Friends of the German Language and Culture,

Welcome to the German Institute for the Southwest (GIS)! Based in Houston, we promote German language and culture throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

GIS is a Goethe-Institut-certified examination center offering official German language exams, as well as German classes for teens and adults—in person in Houston and online via Zoom.

We invite you to explore our website and discover our classes and workshops.
