Our friends at the AATG (American Association of Teachers of German) have informed us of an incredible opportunity for college graduates:
“In collaboration with Berlin’s three major universities, the German Bundestag offers the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) to politically active and dedicated young college graduates who wish to play an important role in shaping the future of their countries.
The IPS program enables participants to gain first-hand knowledge of Germany’s parliamentary system and political decision-making during a 5-month work placement with a Member of the German Parliament (to take place March 1 through July 31, 2017). Participants will also have the chance to enroll in university classes during the summer semester, spending a total of five months in the German capital.
This program is open to university graduates who are U.S. citizens and have a very good knowledge of the German language.
Candidates should also be familiar with the basic features of the German governmental system. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate studies and be able to offer proof of their degree by December 31, 2016.
Please refer to the Bundestag flyer and website www.bundestag.de/ips to learn more about the program’s requirements and to apply. The deadline for application has been extended through July 31, 2016.
Greetings,
Keith Cothrun
Executive Director”
