Until gatherings of people at a nearer distance is recommended, all adult classes will be ONLINE.  The in-person classes listed below will be opened for registration only when local and state governments allow and recommend resumption of classes. Social distancing, mask, and hygiene guidelines will still have to be followed.
For all of our out-of-town and out-of-state students – we will continue our online classes for you, even if we will be back to in-person classes.

Online Classes. All online classes are held via Zoom.  You will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet, or phone connected to the internet.  If you have not downloaded Zoom, you can do so at zoom.us, or if you are outside the U.S., at the Zoom website for your country.

In-Person Classes. Currently we have no in-person classes scheduled for the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 Terms. All classes are held online (see above).

Proficiency Levels.  We teach all levels of proficiency, corresponding to the Goethe-Institut designations:  A1.1, A1.2, A1.3 – A2.1, A2.2, A2.3 – B1.1, B1.2, B1.3 – B2.1, B2.2, B2.3 – C1 and C2.  The objectives and contents of these courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).  Our students often have different levels of experience in the German language.  In order for proper placement of each student, we determine the level of proficiency during a special testing day or on the first day of a course, and form the classes accordingly.

Instruction Materials We use instruction material used by Goethe-Instituts world-wide, as well as some universities. In some cases, course materials will be made available on the first day of class or you will be informed where to purchase the books. The cost is approximately $50 ($25 for a course book and $25 for a work book). You must be sure to get the correct edition for class.

Discounts. Returning students receive a discount of ten percent for in-person classes, and there usually is an early registration discount for each session (see below).

Cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a course that does not have the requisite number of students enrolled. If a class is canceled, refunds will be issued to enrolled students.

Corporate Classes.  We also offer classes to your employees at your facilities at your convenience. Please contact Angelika at angelika@germansouthwest.org or 713-822-4257 for more information.

Private Tutoring.  We offer private tutoring from our highly qualified instructors on an hourly time basis in packages of ten hours per purchase.  Please contact Angelika at angelika@germansouthwest.org or 713-822-4257 for more information.
