Welcome and Pertinent Information
We welcome all pre-teens and teens, aged 8 to 16 years, who are interested in learning and exploring the language and culture of German-speaking countries. Our courses are designed for:
- Beginners: Little or no prior knowledge of German
- Intermediate and Advanced Students: Those who can communicate in a German-speaking environment or speak German at home.
All of our teachers are native German speakers or have comparable proficiency. Each school year emphasizes seasonal traditions and special events in German-speaking countries.
Language Tests
We are affiliated with the Goethe-Institut, the official German cultural organization, and are licensed to offer and administer the prestigious Goethe language exams, recognized world-wide as proof of German language skills. For more detailed information, visit: https://www.goethe.de/en/spr/kup/prf/prf.html
Class Locations
Courses are offered online only.
- Online classes: Conducted via Zoom. Install the free program at zoom.us or country’s version
Note: Classes in Cinco Ranch/Katy and Fort Bend County are currently postponed while we search for a suitable location for our school.
Course Materials
- Intermediate and advanced classes require additional book purchases
Proficiency Levels
Our students often have different levels of experience in the German language. In order for proper placement of each student, we determine the level of proficiency on the first day of a course, and form the classes accordingly. For a description of our various classes and levels, please check this post on our website.
Age Guidelines for Classes
We indicate the approximate age level of the students in the class in our course descriptions. However, if your child has a birthday during the Fall through Summer Terms and no longer falls in the age group, the student will remain with the teacher with whom the classes started in the fall.
Tuition Discounts
- Returning students: Receive a 10% discount for 10-week classes that meet twice a week.
- Early Registration: Enjoy additional discounts when registering early (details available in session announcements)
Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel a course that does not have the requisite number of students enrolled.
